Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. This helps remove waste and toxins, boosting the immune system and reducing swelling.

  • Ideal for those experiencing lymphedema or swelling due to surgery or injury.

  • Helps detoxify the body and improve overall lymphatic function.

  • Promotes relaxation and can aid in recovery from certain medical treatments.

MLD is such an expansive topic, that I have done an entire article on it! Have a read of it here! https://www.bodyworksbycorey.co.uk/post/unblocking-wellness-the-soothing-flow-of-lymphatic-drainage-massage

Sports/Orthopedic Massage

Sports and Orthopedic Massage is a targeted therapy designed to address the needs of athletes or individuals with specific injuries. This modality focuses on preventing and treating sports-related injuries, improving athletic performance, and enhancing recovery. It is a misconception that you need to be a sports person to have a sports massage! Its historically been called that as sports people are generally more likely to suffer acute injuries, but this type of massage can be applicable to absolutely anyone!

  • Perfect for athletes and active individuals seeking to improve performance and prevent injuries.

  • Effective in treating specific musculoskeletal issues and chronic pain.

  • Helps speed up recovery after intense physical activities or injuries.

  • Not just for sports people!

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is one of the most common and well-known massage techniques. It involves long, flowing strokes, kneading, and circular movements on the superficial layers of muscle. Most people will think of Swedish massage as the go-to for relaxation. Typically its the type that will be used in a spa.

  • Great for relaxation and reducing stress levels.

  • Ideal for those new to massage therapy.

  • Helps improve circulation and ease muscle tension.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is a specialized form of massage tailored to the needs of individuals undergoing cancer treatment. This gentle therapy focuses on providing comfort, reducing symptoms, and improving quality of life. There is a lot of confusion over what oncology massage is for, as its a relatively young modality. However, as a cancer survivor myself, and a dedicated practitioner I have taken my oncology massage training and developed it further to help my patients.

  • Safe for individuals at any stage of cancer treatment or recovery.

  • Helps alleviate pain, fatigue, and anxiety associated with cancer.

  • Provides a nurturing touch that supports overall well-being

  • Targeted lymphatic drainage for cancer patients who have had lymph node removal

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. This technique is more intense and involves slow, deliberate strokes to address chronic pain and muscle tension.

- Effective for individuals with chronic pain or tension in specific areas.

- Helps break down scar tissue and improve flexibility.

- Ideal for those who prefer a more intense and therapeutic massage.
